US has reported the worst and coldest weather in 20 years which has even sent polar bears to find a place for shelter. Each of the 50 US states has experienced unusual low temperature drop below freezing and will keep a grip on many countries nationwide for few days. The major wind storm that hit the country a week ago has now headed towards Atlanta giving extreme flood warning to the UK, Ireland and Scotland. People of both the countries have been suggested to remain indoors.

The freezing cold in the US and flood warnings in UK have made it difficult for people to go out and shop. The bad weather has turned to be good for eCommerce based online stores in some way. People who are new to online shopping have been encouraged to have a go at the the new and trending format. The products that saw the highest increase in sales were hot beverages, clothing retailers and various food items. People are still continuing buying various things that are needed to survive the havoc.

People’s shopping behavior and lifestyle habits are more influenced by weather and environment. The difference between a clear day and a cloudy day with respect to online shopping results in a difference of few percent in the order volume for different eCommerce verticals like clothing, home/ furniture and other wholesale retailers. A recent news report stated , that due to cold and rainy weather in the affected countries, different online stores have seen their sales grow by leaps and bounds in the last one week from the date of hard knocks. Business owner have been greatly benefited and so are the consumers.
